Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about OmniWebKit’s 100+ free online tools — pricing, privacy, security, and support.

Getting Started

What is OmniWebKit?

OmniWebKit is a free online platform with 100+ web tools for everyday digital tasks — image conversion and compression, PDF editing, text formatting, calculators, developer utilities, SEO tools, and more. Every tool runs directly in your browser, so you can get results instantly without installing software or creating an account.

Are the tools really free?

Yes. All 100+ tools on OmniWebKit are completely free to use, with no hidden costs, trials, or premium tiers. There is nothing to unlock or upgrade — you get full functionality on every tool at no charge.

Do I need to create an account or sign up?

No account or sign-up is required. You can use any tool immediately by opening its page. There are no logins, email verifications, or paywalls between you and the tool.

How many tools does OmniWebKit offer?

OmniWebKit offers 100+ tools across categories including image, file/PDF, text, math, web/developer, media, SEO, network, date & time, and fun utilities. New tools are added regularly.

Privacy & Security

Is it safe to use OmniWebKit?

Yes. Most OmniWebKit tools process your data entirely inside your browser, meaning your files never leave your device. The site is served over HTTPS, and for the few tools that require server-side processing (such as video conversion or OCR), files are held only in temporary memory and automatically deleted shortly after.

Do you store the files I upload?

No. For browser-based tools, files are never uploaded at all — they stay on your device. For tools that need a server (like certain document conversions), uploaded files are stored only in temporary storage and are automatically deleted within about one hour. We do not keep permanent copies.

Are files processed in my browser or on a server?

It depends on the tool. Utilities like the image compressor, JSON formatter, password generator, and case converter run 100% client-side in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Compute-heavy tools such as video compression and OCR use a secure backend, and those files are auto-deleted after processing.

Do you sell or share my data?

No. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data or file contents with third parties. Because most processing happens locally, we typically never see your files in the first place. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Tools & Features

What types of tools are available?

Categories include Image tools (convert, compress, resize, remove background), File & PDF tools (merge, compress, convert, edit), Text tools (word counter, case converter, formatter), Math & calculators, Developer tools (JSON formatter, JWT decoder, regex tester), SEO tools, Network tools, and more.

Can I convert images and compress PDFs for free?

Yes. Image conversion (JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC), image compression, PDF merging, PDF compression, and dozens of other conversions are all free and unlimited. Most run right in your browser for instant, private results.

Do the tools work on mobile phones and tablets?

Yes. OmniWebKit is fully responsive and mobile-first, so every tool works on smartphones, tablets, laptops, and desktops. You can install it as a Progressive Web App (PWA) for quick access, too.

Which browsers are supported?

OmniWebKit works on all modern browsers, including Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Brave, and Opera. For the best experience, keep your browser updated to the latest version.

Can I use the tools offline?

Many browser-based tools continue to work offline once the page has loaded, thanks to our Progressive Web App support. Tools that rely on a backend service (such as some conversions) require an internet connection.

Pricing & Limits

Is there a premium or paid plan?

No. There is no premium plan, subscription, or paywall. Every feature of every tool is free for everyone, forever.

Are there any usage limits?

For browser-based tools there are effectively no usage limits — you can process as many files as your device can handle. A small number of server-powered tools apply light rate limits to keep the service fast and fair for everyone.

Why is OmniWebKit free?

We believe essential digital tools should be as accessible as a web search. Running most tools in your browser keeps our costs low, which lets us offer the platform free while respecting your privacy.

Technical & Developers

Why isn’t a tool working for me?

First, make sure your browser is up to date and JavaScript is enabled, since tools run client-side. Try refreshing the page, clearing the cache, or disabling aggressive ad/script blockers. If a specific file fails, it may be an unsupported format or an unusually large size — try a different file to confirm.

Does OmniWebKit have an API?

Select tools expose versioned API endpoints for automated use, subject to rate limits and CORS rules. Check the individual tool page for its payload schema and availability.

Do the tools support bulk or batch processing?

Several tools support batch processing — for example, the bulk image compressor can handle many images at once in your browser. Look for “bulk” or “batch” options on the relevant tool pages.
